It's about 35 mph. We are required to wear helmets and padding everywhere in America, otherwise we'd have to sue everybody.

I know it sux. I wanted to race some shifter go karts in america and there are none availble that i could find in or near chicago. its a shame, there is so much free sace for tracks but there are none, i think:(

There is a 3/4-mile outdoor track in Sheridan, IL, called "Concept Haulers Motor Speedway." I don't think they rent shifters, though, so you would have to find one on your own.

There is also a private club in Joliet called the Autobahn Country Club. They have a kart track, but you need to be or know a member to get in.

i race there 2. im in the junior league. im in group 1. this is the best place on earth. i race in the league and also race with my dad on friday nights.
