It's update time once again! This time we're going to focus on the addition of enemies to the editor and the game. We'll also take a peek into the code to see how enemies are designed and built. And finally, we'll check out the same level from last time, but now this time it's infested with enemies! Enjoy!

  • Great videos, I am currently making a game. And I originally started to make the game 8 bit styled. I was wondering how you made your graphics with that resolution? And also, how big are your tiles? I was using 24x24 px but I think thats much too small. If you could answer, that would be great :)

  • @KraurGames The graphics are 5 times the size of the Gameboy resolution, so each "in-game" pixel translates to 5x5 pixels. So, each 16x16 tile is actually blown up to 80x80.

    Hope that helps!

  • Maybe some optimizations in the update function of your collisionattack you create the rects every update. A better way is to create those once or do a check if they dont exist and create them then else reuse an older object.

  • @alililiff Yeah, I actually thought about that after I made the video... It would be more efficient than reinstantiating two new Rectangles each time.

  • Nice to see some C#. Do you plan to port your game to Linux and Mac? (Mono and MonoXNA)

  • @FrozenPixelStudio There are no plans for that now, but we are considering a PC release through Steam. Right now we're focused on the Xbox 360 version, and we'll go from there. :)

  • Awesome stuff man! You're planning a level designer right? With what you laid out here what are the odds players can new up their own enemies and set the values for all those properties? Are you storing the enemies stats in an XML file (or some other resource file) or are they hard coded into the game?

  • You and FantomenK ROCK!
