Shortly before 8:30am a teenage girl was hit by a vehicle in front of Deluxe Fish and Chips on Mountain Road, she was rushed code 1 to the Moncton Hospital with Head Trauma. RCMP blocked off all 4 lanes of Mountain Road. Video aired on CBC News.
my friend was hit by a chevy truck, a week before actually. I remember my friend comming in and saying "_____ WAS HIT BY A TRUCK!!" another friend came to class and said he was awake and talking.
He flew about 40 feet from where the impact was. i went to the accident site after school, it was terrible, peices of the vehicule were everywhere, and you could see where my friend landed in the snow. He's ok, just letting anyone who didn't know about that accident. I hope this girl is too.
this road is ridiculous... but it's not the fault of the roads. it's the fault of the fact motorists cannot see the flashing crosswalk lights and not looking for them. Drive down mountain day or night and it's business signs and lights causing distractions everywhere. Those dim little crossing lights don't stand out one bit! As a motorist I sometimes only catch them last minute.. as a pedestrian I see motorists looking forward.. not up past all the neon and lit signs all over mountain road.
I agree that it's not the safest road but I see so many teenagers everyday just walk out crossing the road without looking. It's a wonder that more don't get hit.
