GT4 Max Speed // Chaparral 2D // 212.19mph in reverse!

I'm of firm belief that the Chaparral 2D has one of the best power/torque curves in Gran Turismo 4, keeping massive ammounts of acceleration even as it hits the rev limiter. It also has some of the longest gearing in the game. Which these thoughts in mind, I set out to try and break the 200mph barrier... travelling in reverse!

The eventual result, 212.19mph!

If your wondering why my car control is so appauling, well when driving backwards, the car effectively has rear wheel steering. Just imagine trying to control a fork lift truck at over 200mph!

Nope, I just use the standard Dual Shock controls. I don't even use the analogue stick for steering, as you can't make quick adjustments so easily.

How did you change the Reverse gear? I thought you could only change the Forward gears...

Setting the final ratio affects all your gearing, including reverse.

U using steering wheel aren't ya? because if i drive a car at just 50KMH if the car can do that he's automaticly going to spin. never mind nice driving ^^

I use the standard Sony Dual Shock 2 pad. I'll admit that it took a few runs to get one where I didn't smack into the barrier.

Ive done 1:38 lap of seattle forward in the chapparal 2J in reverse(check my my videos to see it - dauer962roadcar). How do you get 212 mph out of the 2D?
