1912 Williams mill "Grandpa"
powered by
6 hp 1930's Fairbanks-Morse gasoline engine "Grandma"
Belt-driven stone burr mill. Two stones sit vertically. One is stationary and the other one turns.

owned by The Oklahoma Steam Threshers & Gas Engine Association

Kernels of corn are put in at the top of the stones.
The adjustment on the right side of the mill keeps the stones pushed together so they will grind the grain.
The grain drops through a sort of Swiss cheese-looking funnel.
The two stones grind it and the result is put out at the back of the mill as meal and hulls.
The shaker at the back separates the hulls from the cornmeal grain.
The fine grain is what makes the corn meal.
The hulls go into waste, which typically fed the chickens.

The cornmeal is sold at The Oklahoma Steam Threshers & Gas Engine Association Show in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
