Choosing the right computer speakers is one of the most important choices if you're a music or film fan or a gamer.
With impressive surround sound sets around, it is easy to forget that for many things all that's required is a really good stereo set, for which the M-Audio Studiophle AV20 speakers fit the bill admirably. So much so that we gave them a Buy It award.

  • I've found that the speakers can sound a bit weak on the low front but only when I've had the volume RIGHT down (ie just switched on). I tend to leave them on about 1/3 of full volume and do the fine control on Windows.

I have found that many speakers seem to concentrate on lows, whereas the AV20s sounded some of the most balanced I've come across.

  • I picked these up 2 weeks ago, Ive got a lot of speakers to compare to and used these for a bit, and I wouldnt reccomend them. Very hissy highs and almost zero lows. If your looking to step up from a laptop and have a need for quality look at the AV40s..Easily worse sounding than some Logitechs speakers of the same price.

  • are these better sounding than the bose comp 2

  • Where was the review in this review? I was expecting some sort of discussion of the sound quality.
