I don't understand how these teachers can play so badly - for instance nothing lines up at 4:01

@YouHaveMetYourMaker bpm= beats per minute... it does mean mean 16th/32nd notes, but not completely
-
i prefer practicing with ankle weights like i find a song with alot of double bass that goes through out the whole song (laid to rest) and i play that song twice then i go off practicing songs i currently want to cover and do a blast beat for 1 min strait

Uh...you know that Gene Hoglan has videos you can watch
-
the fastest i can play while holding a steady beat for a long time and keeping everything perfect is 170 bpm. ive been playing double pedal for about 8 months now and i play everyday. my goal in 4 months i would like to be playing 200 bpm on the double bass.

When everyone says their bpms, do they mean 16th or 32nd notes.

Sixteenth notes at 130 bpm? That pretty respectable. How long can you play sixteenth notes at 130 bpm? One minute? Two minutes? Are they steady?
