The greatest tenor ever, but these telefunken recordings were made a little too late in his career. He'd lost the sheen, all of the purely vocal qualities that made him so special. Left are his interpretive ones, which are fantastic!

Due immensi artisti!I difetti di Del Monaco li conosciamo...nonostante una tecnica respiratori eccellente ed una voce di natura strabiliante...ci sottoponeva alcune volta a cadenze lagnose!Però rendeva la vera drammaticita del momento meglio di pertile!
