Admirer asks: "Can you make them talk?"
Me: "Sure. That's the easy part. Good luck getting them to be quiet"

@Mobilebird I have an Alexandrian and a Ring neck, both get along very well and enjoy being with other birds, my friend often brings her Sun Conure over to socalize it.
I have a Eclectus in my sights that I am really hopping to get. I know your not likely to be an expert nor any other people that may comment, but do you think getting the Eclectus is pushing it to far?

My mom just got a baby girl Eclectus and she is so adorable but she doesn't know how to talk yet because she is still a baby. How long did it take yours to speak?

They're cute, I live with an eclectus. I don't like parrots though. I can't really read them and they bite really hard if you don't understand what they want. T.T

This is SO cute. I have my own male eclectus and he talks SO much. He even seems to try and teach our new female to talk although she doesn't really care to. Eclectus seem to the funniest talkers from what I can tell. Every video I've seen, and comparing my eclectus to my african gray, the eclectus is more lively.

@chinchillawrangler It's usually diet and/or lack of attention that will make them pull their feathers out. Get him off seed if he's eating it and get him onto fresh fruit and vegetables (NOT avocado). It's a pain to prepare but it's worth it. Keep him occupied with a few toys in his cage and switch them out for others after a week or so.
Those two are beautiful! My 4 month old went nuts when I played this back to him. He's a long way off speech, but he already understands his name and a

@SmokeyTheDude Find a good breeder in your area. Check their references. Look in your area for a bird club, they can be a good resource in helping you find an eclectus. Try to locate a rescue. You don't always have to start with a baby. I have a new Eclectus boy, I'm his second home, and he's such a good boy! I love him.

SO ADORABLE! im torn between getting an eclectus or pionus... pionus are said to be quiet and less active, and eclectus are said to be gentle but have a tricky diet and need more time than the pionus.. what should i get? both are great birds though, no matter my choice ill be happy! :D
