This is a 9.5-month-old red junglefowl stag. His father is one of my near-pure Southeast Asian Red Junglefowl males and his mother is a hybrid Laos Strain red junglefowl female.

For what it is worth, this bird rarely crows when humans are within close proximity. However, it crowed nonstop when the would-be-owner was present. I nonchalantly shared the comment to the individual about the unusual crowing behavior.

A couple of days later, I was informed in Hmong dialect by the would-be-owner, "I had to have this bird because it looks and sounds exactly like my old red junglefowl in Laos. During the war, my bird was confiscated by the Communist Pathet Lao due to its extraordinary crow. In my heart, I truly believe this is my bird reincarnated."

Is it coincidental? Maybe. Is it gratifying? Definitely.
