What if...?

Is anyone alive today so positive they do not need to examine ANY new info put before them? Are YOU?

Well, I'm not sure what your point here is, but you do have a good one with asking the question "What if"

I,myself, ask the question "What if creation IS true?" Okay, then if it is true, and I worship God, then I will go to Heaven and live for eternity without sin and with a better life than anyone could ever imagine!

But, on the opposing side... "What if evolution is true?" Okay, then when I die, I return to dirt and become comp for the grass and other stuff to grow...

And with those 2 thoughts, I have determined that I have a LOT more to lose if I am wrong about the first one verses being wrong about the second one, so with that said the first "what if" is the better alternative for me to live by for now (until I either find out differently when I go to heaven or I die and never know the difference)

Most of these "modern sciences proves the bible" thing are too cryptic, miss the mark completely or it's just a sheer coincidence.

Actually:

1) They did not think the earth was flat because they could see a ship coming sails (the top part) first, they thought it was egg shaped, just look at atlas again

2) A circle can still be flat, never seen Terry Pratchett

3) The stars are not innumberable, it would just take an insanely long time to count them

4) Being in nothing, hold on, what about the layer of water above the earth (Gen 1:6)

5) Of the rest of them, they are VERY unclear are small in numer and hello contradictions:

Hi LogicSavior, Please re-read your history books, cuz its a known fact that they thought the earth was flat (I didn't just "make that up"). I got all the "facts" in this video off the i-net or out of history books, and of course the bible.

AS for the stars, if it takes an insanely long time to count them (which has NEVER been done,) then that would mean they are "innumerable" (unless someone actually does it)

As 4 the layer of water. maybe the heavens (firmament,) are surrounded by water...

The same is true for your second (?) quote - about the inumerable stars. If you looked up at the stars even now, on a clear day, many people would call them innumerable just at a glance because there are so many of them. If the bible gave more than poetic language based on immediate reactions, like for example, giving numbers like 10^22 stars, THAT would be impressive. Also, the bible compares the descendants to the number of stars, but the number of stars VASTLY outnumber humans.

I really don't know why people always open with the whole 'the bible told you the earth is a sphere thing' when the passages CLEARLY say it is a circle (as in a 2-D object, still flat). And even in 2D, the bible didn't get the shape right, in 2D the earth would be an oval rather than a circle.

Also, all of the interpretations of these quotes fall under the bias of foreknowledge. Just looking at a very specific interpretation. If the bible was alid, you could accurately and frequently predict.

In addtion, you taunt scientific advances while forgetting that it was the faith which held back the advancnes in the first place. What did pious men do to so many scientific studies back in the days? Galileo serves as a good example here.

...we have many High-Cultures with precise maps and calenders. The fact that bible lacks accurate calender should hint towards their lack of knowledge. Jewish herders looking at the desert-night sky, lacked understanding. Period.

¤Proving "scientifically" is something which cannot be done with the bible, because faith denies facts, Science excludes faith.
