After the highlighting process if they used example direct color or some semi-permanent color for the red it didn't do any damage because if the hair is already light enough or highlighted, alkaline permanent color with strong developer is not necessary because you want to add color, not remove it. So I don't think she went through that many damaging chemical processes. Highlighting made damage, that's true. A bit misleading I would say. But this is how the commercials are, facts and lies.
