The Wolfram Rd. crossing is located west of Portage, near the east end of Lewiston Siding. First, Amtrak #8 blazes by. Then, an eastbound loaded coal or coke train powered by ES44AC CP 8855 and AC4400CW CP 8654 comes through, after leaving the siding where it was overtaken by #8.

  • What do you mean by coke train?

  • Coke is a specific type of coal, I'm not sure how to tell the difference by looking at it.

  • Coke is more of a gray color also when cooked it looses alot of its density there becoming less heavy than coal

  • It seems like the only coke train with good power is 891.

  • coke is made from coal, they bake coal in an airless furnace so it becomes almost pure carbon. It looks pale compared to coals usual black.

  • Ok, thanks.
