One of the most impressive musical productions from the lead Motown songwriting team of Holland, Dozier, and Holland, Levi Stubbs is featured a marvelous vocal performance on the Four Tops' "Ask The Lonely". Helping out with the background vocals on this recording are The Andantes. "Ask The Lonely" peaked at #24 on the pop charts during February of 1965.

  • thank you for the tracks of my life

  • Just got Dear Johned, coming home after hospital discharge, tore up pretty bad. Levi and the Tops were my solace. I could never find words to thank them for this song. Crazy as it sounds it got me through it.

  • Levi had a great voice.

  • Wish they still made music like this,,,,,,,Grew up on Motown and enjoy listening to it on youtube,

  • Stubbs had a beautiful face........and of course......voice.

  • God bless The Four Tops for all the wonderful times they gave me back in the sixties when I was a teen and for all the great memories now. When I hear Levi singing "Ask The Lonely" it still brings a tear to my eye.

  • @1eightball1 So sorry for you. Sometimes memories have to be enough. But we are graced with music like this that takes us to a place and time and we are together again. There is an entire generation mourning with you.

  • @1eightball1 GOD BLESS U HONEY, I'M FEELING YA, MAY YOUR LIFE BE COMFORTED BY THE GOOD MEMORIES. PEACE.

  • This is the greatest music ever made as far as I'm concerned. I remember driving my 1963 VW Beetle to work with my Mini 8 track in the glove box and playing the Tops, Temps, Jr. Walker, Supremes, all of Motown, and trying to sing along with those great voices. Sadly failing to keeo up i might add. Music was real back then.
