The final duet from Puccini's "La rondine", as sung by the gorgeous Anna Moffo & ardent-sounding Daniele Barioni. The music is quite hard! Most of Ruggero's music revolves around the passaggio, while Magda's music demands thoughtful phrasing e.g. the phrases after "Lascio ch'io ti parli come una madre"; in the hand of lesser sopranos, most Magdas turn hammy as opposed to heart-wrenching.
Supported by Mo. Molinari-Pradelli & the RCA Italiana Opera Orchestra, the two leads did an amazing job: this is still the "La rondine" recording to go after fifty years.
