@Pipescratch Haha! Great that you asked him that! I've often thought about doing something like it ... "How about that Jeter last night, huh?" ... and then just look at their big question mark of a face (and then shake my head).
Season's right around the corner - it's gonna be awesome!

@RequiemPipes Hehehe, yeah, that would have made the story better, that's for sure.
The hats are made of bearskin and was quite warm in direct sun, believe me!

@BigPsiClone HAHA! That's a good one, Ben!

@Pipescratch I think I'll keep my SF logo, thank you ;P
By the way, doesn't it bother you to see all the Yanks merchandise on people here who knows nothing at all about baseball?

@dighsx Hi Jay, yes, the rifle was/is loaded.
Denmark has used conscripts for hundreds of years, but it's being slowly abolished now as the defence is being cut in size and undergoes quite radical changes (leaving the old cold way defence structures and becoming more international minded).

@Fenianboyo Ha! No, even back then I was pretty laid back. In fact, the officers called me the hippie sometimes, and I was - as far as I know - the only one in the history of the regiment who had permission to have a plant in our quarters.

@Flieger671 Hehe, no, that seems to come as a surprise to most people.
Lol, ughh...a nasty hand of gooo! Enjoyed the story.
I wonder if your job was similar to the guards at Buckingham palace? If it was
did you alway's have people trying to make you crack a smile? lol
Cheers,
James

@astroman2112 Hi James! There's a big difference between the UK guards and the Danish ones. While the ones in UK can't move or do anything, the Danish ones are far more free. There's still a LOT of rules, but one of them is that people can't get closer than about 1 meter, and if they do so the guard can do 'whatever' it takes to remove them. Also, they don't stand still all the time, but also walk a small route. Overall it's not as easy to poke fun at the ones in Denmark. They'll poke back! ;D

Ha, that's super funny. Those guys aren't military? Did you like that job?

@TristownDynamite The royal guards is a part of the Danish army and is also a armored infantry regiment. The guard service is just a part of the service there -- most of the time it's all about 'regular' army duties.
Well, the job was ok. Pretty rough from time to time, but looking back it taught me quite few useful things ... also about myself.
