so nice to see this movie, i hear it is very popular at that time. It make the main actor Mr. Teng immediately become top most popular new star. Also Lenny Sum is playing in this film too, he is now living in Toronto. And my singing teacher, Miss Wei Sau Han ( Winnie Wei) is sing the song for the main actres Miss Din Yin..the good thing about this movie is it reflect the condition of student at that era in HongKong....

When I was watching Ting Ying performing 紅豆詞 in the movie, I immediately thought that it was Winnie Wei who had dubbed the song for her. Many episodes of this film focus on the young actors rather than the veteran ones, like this one.

To HongKongThe50s
you must be excellent in music to be able to know is Miss Wei Sau Han ( Winnie Wei). In that time, many movie dont put the name of singer so people will not know.
yes, film producer always try to focus on the new comer more becasue they want to create another popular star so they can make more money or to replace the older one in case they dont want to work anymore. Thanks for sharing all this good old movie, they r excellent for study the HK society of that time

Peter, I always appreciate your nice comments. I keep asking me why I upload these clips from old films, and my answers are always different. For studying the HK society of that time? Yes, part of it.

Quite often, when I'm watching the video of the late 1940s/early 1950s, I remember the many B/W ceramic photos on the tombstones that I once saw in a nearby cemetery (hope I don't scare you :-)). They were young people who died during or right after the Pacific War. So, here comes another reason - maybe the real reason - this channel is for me to pay tribute more to those people who did not survive than to those who did survive in that era.
