This is Part 2 of 8 in a drastically edited and annotated version of the movie: ENEMY OF THE STATE
The point of my comments - which appear as subtitles throughout - is to illustrate how Trusted Surveillance can protect us against abuse of such tools by the State.
Trusted Surveillance is the exact opposite of what we increasingly see around us today. Instead of spooks and others watching us, we watch ourselves and them. The aim is to protect our privacy and liberty, whilst capturing the valuable data which can be useful against real enemies when necessary.
The main technical requirement is anonymisation of the data and abolition of central databases containing sensitive data to which thousands require regular access. This will be relatively easy.
The main political requirement is the transfer of control from politicians to We The People, primarily, for the Trusted Surveillance system, in the form of appropriately selected Juries. This will be difficult.

H) It cuts off money made by terrorist groups who use it to plot terror acts against innocent people- look up "Narco-terrorism".
Besides, legalizing it not only helps people with medical problems, but Research the 7 people still getting medical weed from the federal gov't legally for their health problems (Its on Penn & Teller BS!: The War on Drugs)
Need any more reasons why it should be legalized and properly regulated???

E) It stops the country from wasting time and money on non-violent drug offenders, which have their futures destroyed due to having a criminal record, F) It takes away private prisons' ability to make money by cranking up the prison populace (look up "PA Child Care fraud, Wilkes-Barre PA"), G) it takes away drug companies and narcotics traffickers' profits from illegal enterprises and pharmaceutical drugs that don't work or people continuously need so they make even MORE money.

C) States can collect taxes on its sale and use the funds to finance projects for the community, D) It forces people to act responsibly when using weed or face a small fine for misusing weed (the fines can help toward balancing city, state, or federal budgets or projects),

The reason why he, like many Americans, wants weed legalized is because A) its a 20 billion dollar a year war that wastes taxpayer money on the nazis we call the DEA, B) 20 billion that can be spent on Obama's healthcare plan without having to raise already high taxes,
