How artists are inspired to create art works? How can we better access sources of inspiration?

While many people believe inspiration to be inaccessible, Gil Dekel argues that through the simple means of a strong urge to create that artists seem to open up to inspiration.

Gil discuss this urge to create, and demonstrate it through the works of Carl Jung, the Romantics, Mondrian, Rodchenko, Kandinsky, WB Yeats and his own art works, which were created as part of his PhD research exploring stages of inspiration in art making.

This is a 10-minutes version of the 30-minutes original presentation, presented at the 3rd International Conference on Arts in Society, Birmingham, UK, 28-31 July 2008.
