Maverick Wings: Doing Their Own Thing

Our Senior was quietly preening in his favourite spot - it's less visible from the water, so he thinks he's completely hidden, except it's right by the path so delighted people come along and get quite close to have a better look, and even talk to him.

One such group came by, sharing their delight loudly. His exclusive hideaway was being invaded. The nerve!

For some reason, when he's annoyed, his wings take on a life of their own! Here he is, continuing his preen, while the wings are saying, "Away with you all - this INSTANT!" For 20-year-old Boy, this is his ultimate expression of frustration ; they do settle down eventually. (I tell him if he doesn't cool it, they'll fall off!)
