Yes, his compositions are so good that the lyrics are sometimes overlooked. He's an excellent lyricist too.

the 90s was a pretty depressing era with all the britpop nonsense blur oasis tony blair etc i would consider neil hannon to be a real musician that rises above all that shit at the time and to get the privilege of writing the theme tune to Father Ted and my lovely horse haha

Catherine Turner. That's her name in the credits. And in the "In Pursuit of Happiness" performance of the same concert Neil introduces her, but just by first name.
