Buffalo Street Gangs & The New Visions Unlimited Part 2

In this short film, Community Organizer Sam Smith recalls the gang violence situation in the African American community of Buffalo, NY in the early 1970's, and the efforts to initiate a city wide gang truce.

In part 2 ,On the heels of an intense community meeting, residents and business owners begin to take steps to defend themselves, Buffalo police begin to step up thier efforts as well.

At the same time, the Pythons gang begin to shift thier efforts towrds reforming thier own neighborhood.

Buffalo is way worse now,, I lived there for 2 years and worked as a Nurse at The VA Medical Center on Bailey Avenue,,, believe me,, it is worse!!! I could tell a lot of stories. The Police in Buffalo have their hands full, you can't walk down near the projects,,fruit Belt area,,, no way,, Guns, gangs,, and even Bailey Ave is very bad, which leads to the Fruit Belt area, and the projects. . It is too bad with all that is there.

@H20654 I cant post links but it was in a United Nations report that came out on Al Jazeera, it wasnt saying that Buffalo has the worst poverty in the world, it had one of the highest rates of DISPARITY, meaning the gap between how much people have, and that it was race related
