Critics may be missing the point by pointing out the obvious deficiencies in the marching. If the lack of precision weren't intentional, would they have left in the "blooper" of Luckey hitting Everett on the back of the head with the baton? Think of what this scene would look and feel like if the band were marching with Nazi-like precision. This musical has allegorical meaning to it and if you think about when it was made and when/where it was set you'll understand why this ending is just right.

@jellyfish912 its supposed to suck... if you watch the play or movie, youll find in it the conductor is a con man who didnt teach them anything about music. and haha your marching band sucks. mine awesome, you can hear our cadences for miles
