Mayor Gavin Newsom has said he would not allow his Police departments in any way enforce immigration laws or turn over to ICE illegal immigrants that are juveniles convicted of crimes. Anthony Bologna, 48, and his sons Michael, 20, and Matthew, 16, were returning from a picnic when they were gunned down on June 16, 2008 by Salvadoran national Edwin Ramos, 22. Ramos was arrested on felonies twice when he was 17 years old and never turned over to immigration because of his age.

I am eternally grateful for what Mayor Newsom has done for gay rights. But when he scapegoated MUNI drivers for SF's budgetary deficit, some of his 'magic' has faded.

Best mayor ever? Sure, that's why over 700 people are protesting right outside his house today. The worst one since that mayor that used dynamite on SF after the 1906 quake. Just another politician begging for a promotion that he does NOT deserve.

I don't live in SF, but I follow Mayor Newsom anyway because he is the best Mayor ever. Has great new innovative ideas and is very open to other perspectives.
