Elvis Presley There Goes My Everything
Written by Dallas Frazier. Elvis recorded it June 8, 1970 at RCAs Nashville Studios. The single release had a 9-week stay on the Hot 100 Chart, peaking at #21. It reached #9 on the Country Chart, and it peaked at #2 on the Easy-Listening Chart. It was the B-side to I Really Dont Want To Know. It was also released as the B-side to Youll Never Walk Alone in 1982. It is available on Elvis Country, Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Walk a Mile In My Shoes-The Essential 70s Masters, and 50 Greatest Love Songs, which is where this version is from.

There goes my only possession
Oh there goes my everything

I hear footsteps slowly walking
As they gently walk across the lonely floor
And a voice is softly saying
Darling this will be goodbye for evermore

There goes my reason for living
There goes the one of my dreams
There goes my only possession
Oh there goes my everything

As my memory turns back the pages
I can see the happy years we've had before
Now the love that kept this old heart beating
Has been shattered by the closing of the door

There goes my reason for living
There goes the one of my dreams
There goes my only possession
Oh there goes my everything
There goes my only possession
Oh there goes my everything
