@Moonbabe1989 They lived on an island.

God damn what a scene this was! Can you imagine?

@SingElBell I didn't know they were supposed to live in a meadow, all the stories I had heard of them seemed to say they were from the sea... interesting :)

Sirens and mermaids, as said, are two completely different things-- but Sirens DID have human forms, and they were supposed to be particularly beautiful-- interestingly enough, they did not lure the sailors with promises of the flesh, but rather with promises of knowledge. :P They called to the mind and soul, rather than the body, making them particularly dangerous.
They were also said to live in a meadow, not come from the sea.

@chiave1983 True, sirens are supposed to have features closer to birds and sparrows rather than fish. But, a lot of art still depicts sirens as something similar to mermaids or women with scales or fish-like features. I would say that makes sense, since sirens were said to lure sailors at sea. I believe they can be portrayed either way. Specially since they are a fictional myth anyway.

@TheForestCallsWithIn I don't think they did have a human body in the original story, but the screenwriters just gave them one to keep in the theme of the movie :) lol
