Hey Guyz!

Thanks for the wait. I promised this last week but I only got it up to speed this week. I've made 3 videos.... the first 2 based on the game itself, and the last based on the level editor which is part of the game as well. The level editor is only 2 days old.. give it a while to be up to speed!

It's been about a month since my last video, and since then I've started learning C# and XNA. I love it. C# is such a sexy smooth language. I recommend anyone and everyone to have a go at it, as well as XNA - makes games wonderful to write! Don't forget to get an XBOX controller to hook up to your PC!

This is a platformer project similar to cosmiKPlatformer1 for C++ but with many new changes and developments! I've tried to show and talk about everything in these 3 videos... but It can't do justice to all the intricate workings and effort that i've put in to this! I must say, I'm really proud of what I've accomplished in such a short time. I hope this inspire any programmer or gamemaker to go forth and create what they want and love! I do this mostly because I love seeing my ideas come so quickly in to virtual fruition, and the best way for me to do that is by making it in to a game!

Please comment, and subscribe and I will have more updates soon.

I would really like to work with other programmers, and especially artists! I want your art for Tiles, LevelObjects, Items (jewels, animatedSprites, etc.....), Enemies. Backgrounds, etc. Please contact me and we can collaborate. I will feature your information in my videos as well as in the game. I do not actually plan to release this as a game commercially, but just want it as a showcase of what is possible, and mostly for the love and fun of creation itself! YAY!

If you have any questions, or would like advice, please message me and we can take it from there. I would much prefer if you comment first, and then send a message- that would be really helpful.

Thanks again for the wonderful comments and support previously,

Look forward to posting more videos soon!

  • A level editor is pretty good. Is XNA C# really easier than DarkGDK C++

  • yeh... darkGDK might be 'easier'... but not in the best way... XNA and C# is easy ... in the best way:P i dunno if that made any sense... if u want it to make sense just learn c# :P lol

  • I know this video is old, but for ease you can embed an XNA game control in a winform. This would be much better for an editor, you can have more tools.

  • Dear uoftcosmik, do you have any tutorials of how to create and display gametime? It would be really helpful if you do, thank you!

  • A nice software to help you create tiles, is a free program called Tile Studio. You have photoshop, which may suit your needs, but for anyone that doesn't have that, Tile Studio is really nice. It includes a built in level editor. I prefer to make my own level editors, but this allows you to create tiles, make a test level with the editor and see what they look like. If you change a tile, it changes it in the editor automatically (all versions of that tile). Nice work anyhow.

  • This looks like it was headed somewhere awesome. Have you finished it yet?

  • Damn missed this vid, your level editor is looking sweet!

I'm hoping to make one for my engine as a side tool, maybe incorporating layers to read/write the maps :)

  • Nice work. :) 5/5

  • I think that he reads his txt file into an array. Where 1 is an palm tree or something else ;)

  • Please Make A Tut On How To Even Start a Game!!! This Is Amazing!

  • Hey, how to you edit a level through a txt file? Btw great job

  • can you please make a tutorial on how to make a text base level editor.

oh and by the way NICE
