The escape provided by DXM to some users is what can be habit forming because the escape solves a problem for those of us not well adjusted to contemporary reality. You might check out odysseyowallace dat wordpress det com for more information (not a sales site, but reflections by a dxm user)... I've also made some videos. Best of luck to you. Don't freak out and try not to withdraw from your friends.

I experienced ancient egyptian aliens the other night.. the greys were there too.
you make a triangle with your hands and concentrate on it.
its where the pyramid meets the eye.
nothing is real anymore.. i see that our reality is one of herd mentality.. we are cattle. what we experience on a daily basis is not reality.. its passification.
it was one of the most real and lucid experiences ive ever had.
the man doesnt want us messing with drugs simply because they can make us SEE.

in lieu of what some have said yes it does have opiate-like properties. There are resources I have on this subject, studies. No it's not like heroin which I was addicted to. But I noticed similarities in withdrawl. Cold sweats. Irritability. No sleep. Severe body pain. Chest pain. Anxiety. Difficulty swallowing. Look at any cough suppresant thats ever been on the market- they have all been opiods or something similar. Try to learn something rather than judge. A smart junkie beats a dumb fukwad

yes major studies have been done on dxm and I myself know a lot about pharmaceuticals including extraction of dxm, recreational dose ranges, and the four plateaus, as well as long term side effects. a good reference to begin with is erowid.com I also have a dextro methrophan alias on facebook. I am not by any means putting down occasional usage because it can in fact be an eye opening enjoyable trip just like other psychedelics. I don't appreciate others judging and ignoring his sincerity.
I've been in the same situation your in now. I have loads of health problems now thanks to DXM. DXM is similar in structure to that of the Opioid family. No studies have ever been done to see if it is addictive. So it more than likely is.

@HippiexChild It's effect on the opioid receptors is minimal at best; moreover, NMDA antagonists have been shown time and time again to be effective treatment for addiction.
Psychologically, perhaps, for those that predisposed to addiction.
