@Punchatori LOL you're so right. I tried this today and slipped too many times to count. It doesn't help when the ball gets sweat all over it =S.

Was wondering if this is okay to do on a day when you are also doing deadlifts or squats with heavy weights.
how long does it take to tone the abs and gain muscle?

Your abs like any muscle start to respond to proper training stimuli almost immediately. I suppose the answer to your question depends on your starting point, nutrition, rest, age, and many other variables. Many of my training clients start to see results in a matter of days or few weeks.

that has gots to be some special mat to make dat ball so damn stable
louisa969 4 years ago
There's absolutely nothing special about the mat. The stability comes from the secure leg placement against the wall. However when you're just beginning you might find the ball wants to move around a little.

You're welcome but I can't take all the credit, these exercises have been around for a while. I learned the side crunch from Paul Chek. A lot of people seem to lack the frontal plane strength and stability but develop it quickly with this exercise. The side crunch is one of my favorite Swiss ball exercises.
