Ima ps3 fan to the core, and some people say sony is losing $50 dollars per unit on ps3 sales. My question is "how is that? if they're losing money then why are they still being produced? I mean if I distributed a item for sale in the retail market and find that I'm not profiting or losing money. even if its 1 dollar I'd pull my item out immediately.

the nintendo wii is the only console since the atari that makes there company money. Console never make the company money. its the games that make the companies money.

its depends on how much money there losing each console.

no, they produce the console, so that they can get developers to make games, so that they(sony) can buy those game and then resell them to retailers(Wal-mart, gamestop..exc) for a profit.

Nintendo Does the same thing, but The Wii is currently making the an $40 profit.

the xbox 360 its self loses microsoft $10 per console but since ther production cost is so low and there fan base is in ameria(No Shipping to other countries) the entire process of making and selling a console makes them about $10-$20 profit

wireless suxs. just buy a 40gb or 20gb and buy a 500gb HDD to swap for only 120$. U can get the WD or Seagate hardrive. It is a 2.5" SATA hardrive. There are all kinds of videos on nhow to do this

actually they will wait when final fantasy XIII will release in Japan so they can made a worldwide price cut. but i think they should do it now. 299$ is a standard price tag to me.

yeah i agree with u on that one and i think they could easily make money on 60gigs as long as they were sold for the current price of the 80gb

True that, but thats not an excuse to put out those severely stripped down PS3s come on.. If anything, new models should be BETTER.

60GB models would actually make profit now, but Sony clearly doesnt want to bring them back because everyone else will realise they tried to take everyone for a dickhead with the new breed of PS3s.

oh word?? damn that sux. im glad i got mines for a lil discount last week.i got mines for 379.99 at circuit city for the 80 gig.since they had to close the store i negotiated with the manager and i got it for that price..still kinda exp but its ok.i had loose dough from my income tax that i saved lol.still got more left but thats for my tuition for school :)
