  • and i also stated in the description that this is a modern translation.

  • This is high school right? And they're not capable of using Shakespeare's original text? Lame.

  • we are capable...our teacher didn't want to do it...

  • Why on earth does oberon have that weirdo next to him...and why is that weirdo wearing glasses?

  • I love how people can get so worked up because this is in modern English *sarcasm* It's not laziness that they didn't use the original. This isn't Harry Potter or anything. Think about the audience. Would they understand the original language??

  • "I" thought this was nice but everyone is entitled to their opinion of course.

Yes, Shakespeare wrote for the ear, but it's up to the artists who recreate his work to convey it in a way that it reaches the their audience. That's being creative, when you can take something such as Shakespeare and modernize it like this. Creativity has no boundaries. There are no rules.

    Great job! :D

  • We're doing it... in highschool... in full Shakespearean English... and it is brilliant!

250 students in the audience, not a peep, except for the approriate laughs.

A major point of performing Shakespeare is the language.

  • terrible!~ shame on your ignorant uneducated teacher to "teach" you nothing. i teach and direct Shakespeare. What's the point of doing this in contemporary language. It looses the whole purpose and your education is cheated. if you like Shakespeare i hope you take classes in College. good luck

  • this is really gay compared to the real thing,, no offence,,,, and we have to act this out in class,, english class

  • anyone who does a "translated" version usually are to lazy to understand the real text. that's the point of doing shakespeare, right?

  • You are so lucky. Our teacher decided to keep the authenticity of it. And we're not even in drama, it's english class.
