@jakeZaks2012 Atheists are atheists because their is no scientific evidence to support religion, but there is evidence to disprove religious "fact". Ask an atheist how they think of themself and they might use the word "freethinker". That's because we're open to new input, whether that be social or scientific.

And, I suppose in closing, a lot of violence is fueled by religion. The Inquisition, Crusades, fatwas, ceremonial suicide, murdering abortion doctors. Atheism promotes being a good guy.

@jakeZaks2012 Why aren't you criticizing theists, too? If anything, they "ram their beliefs down everyone's throats" far more than us atheists. Take a walk to the nearest movie theater. You come across churches with religious slogans on their signs, religious protesters, ichthus signs on car bumpers. I witness people blessing their meals in restaurants. The majority of atheist YouTube videos are made for atheists. They're not here to specifically turn you into an atheist.

To claim religion turns a person into a cold-blooded murderer is like saying violent video games turn children into killers.

Humans will use ANY pretext to perpetrate an atrocity. Hitler showed that even evolution could be used to facilitate evil.

At least religion recognizes the conscious self. If I take atheism and materialism literally, then humans are just lumps of expendable matter. I can murder a child and feel no guilt. Killing a human would be the equivalent of smashing a rock.

Hitler was an atheist, believed in eugenics, wanted to create a master race - he slaughtered millions. General Suharto of Indonesia, also an atheist, butchered over 1.2 million. Pinochet of Chile killed thousands to get into power. Stalin murdered, tortured & imprisoned millions. The list goes on and on!

So, that's a problem there for science to attempt to solve, but atheists would rather spout their beliefs instead of doing science

I've read research papers by neuroscientists, so please don't lie and claim that science knows how matter causes conscious experience - because it doesn't! Einstein said science will NEVER be able to explain consciousness. If it's not a physical phenomenon, he is right.  How are you going to explain conscious experience in terms of particles moving about?

Part II

Atoms moving about are just atoms moving about - they can't create what doesn't exist in the matter universe: conscious experience!

Either consciousness - like gravity - is real, or it isn't. If it isn't real, then we're just atoms, and we're not conscious - yet we are conscious! I feel pain, see color, hear sound, taste flavors, yet none of these exist in the matter universe.

Could you athesits STOP RAMMING YOUR BELIEF DOWN EVERYONE'S THROATS. People will decide what to believe themselves. If you want to upload science videos, upload science videos - don't babble on about the fact that you BELIEVE there is no "God" and mocking other religions. It's churlish!

NOTHING you can say can change my belief. I'm AGNOSTIC!

Until science - as opposed to your belief! - can show how atoms moving about can create conscious experience, I will remain agnostic.
