thats good to know but everyday southern CA and northern have earthquakes, so the magnitudes ur predicting is normal. shit we just had a 3.8 like 15 mins ago and 6 others..

I'm sure you meant to say astronomy, but the actual field of study for plate tectonics would be geology. I have taken college semesters in both, and while there was no taught material about the moon's gravity and earthquakes, it actually fits the known model pretty well. The moon's gravity can just be a trigger, where the actual actual cause is tension and stress built up over time in the crust.

There are thousand of earthquakes each year, so its hard to be wrong. It always strikes somewhere. According to Jim we should have 12 earthquakes per year in California, since there are as many fool moons.

I estimate that there will be a very big earthquake, like a 7.0-9.0 in the next 100 years.
