We love it when companies buy a specific day on IWYS for a reason. The date today is 8/11 and we're wearing shirts for Call 811!

Call 811 is a "Call Before You Dig" phone number. 811 was created to help protect you from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging projects. People digging often make risky assumptions about whether or not they should get their utility lines marked due to concerns about project delays, costs and previous calls about other projects. These assumptions can be life-threatening... seriously.

811 can be dialed from anywhere in the country before you dig. A customer service representative will answer the call to find out the location and description of the dig site. Utility companies will be notified of the intent to dig and will dispatch locate technicians to have the lines marked using the standard industry color codes. Digging projects would include the following examples: installing a mailbox, putting up a fence, planting trees, building a deck, etc etc. Call 811 at least three business days before digging to allow time for representatives to locate technicians to mark the utility lines.

The next time you dig you better Call 811!
