This is a short clip from the film "Early Warnings" that details the sit-in that happened on Wall Street on the 50th Anniversary of the 1929 Stock Market Crash. The protestors were demanding an end to financial support for the nuclear industry and the action was part of the larger occupations at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant. The costumed figures on stilts are from the Bread and Puppet Theatre. The film is from Green Mountain Post Films www.gmpfilms.com

  • Actually these anti-nuclear protests were very successful in helping to stop the spread of nuclear plants. There have been no new nuclear plants built in the US for over 30 years and hopefully the recently licensed, federally funded new nukes in Georgia, will also be abandoned before they are built.

  • @TEHTYMEKITTEH1 Another brilliant comment from the opposition. The level of comment coming in from the people opposed to Occupy Wall Street seems uniformly hate-filled, uninformed, derogatory, and inarticulate. It seems the right is constantly filled with this seething anger and resentment. It's sad, but I guess in modern day talk show America, it's what passes for dialogue.

  • @TEHTYMEKITTEH1 your mother? oh, please ! ur IQ round 7 boy? , Advice, buy a marker and write an L on your head. (if you can spell that)

  • @trishy00 Funny thing is that after the dust clears and all is changed, The OWS people will be called real Americans and heroes. The Douchebags that write this hate crap and oppose change will somehow justify it in their mind and agree that it was a good idea. They also will not see that they opposed it. and they might even take credit for it! Vietnam was shortened this way (see movie Yes Sir!No Sir! on Netfilx). THOSE protesters are called Heroes nowadays.

  • @TEHTYMEKITTEH1 Opps you are looking in the mirror! XDDD!

  • looking very familiar

  • These people are why 30 years later the US is still giving money to Saudia Arabia and Venezuela for oil. Good job, guys

  • @poodtang1

= Obviously nothing worked if 32 years later we are still having an "Occupy Wall st." =

Obviously, because back then they should have used massive firepower rather than this nonviolence bullshit. If they had used massive firepower back then against Wall Street and politicians, there would be far fewer casualties of financial terrorism and injustice today.

  • @djgeoffe = This has nothing to do with LEFT/RIGHT. =

Yeah, riiight. Tell that to the assholes who ridicule the OWS heroes by calling them "leftists", as if that's some kind of insult.

  • @clight7 Don't give up. The civil rights movement suffered the same hate & ignorance.
