@OHearn14AUS whats your evidence that a cougar is smarter than a wolf? As far as who would win I'm siding with the cougar, would take a lot of wolves to kill one and really not sure why they would bother, even if they won serious injury or even death seems inevitable, there is much easier 'prey' so why take the chance?

@OHearn14AUS Its very rare that wolves kill a Cougar but it has happened. Sometimes cougars have to give up their kill when a Wolf pack arrives and usually when a cougar kills one wolf they flee before the rest of the pack get there. If its a small wolf pack yes a Cougar can kill the wolves but if its a big wolf pack a cougar might not stand a chance. Also a wolf bite is twice as hard as a German Shepherd's bite and German Shepherds bite hard lol.

@TheCajunGambit1 I'm pretty sure even a pack of wolves would be incapable of taking down a cougar, it's about three times their weight and twice their speed, plus a cougar is more intelligent than a wolf. The only chance they would have is if they got the cougar cornered but that's very unlikely to happen.

@N0thinglasts1 Thats true but I did hear of some cases of Wolf packs killing Cougars. And wolves are in the Dog family so they can kill a big cat like a Cougar if there in a pack.
