"LUMINOUS" is the title of my exhibition of Light Paintings, held in the stylish Fireking Café & Gallery, Yoyogi-Uehara, Tokyo, from Jan.11 to Feb. 6, 2011.
This slightly wobbly video was shot from 2:30 to 5.30 am, and shows the staff of Fireking Café doing great work setting up the exhibition, after having already worked a full day in the restaurant. I plan to shoot a steadier video soon, under less exhausting circumstances!
THE MUSIC in this video is an excerpt from "Searching for the Temple Within" from my album "Flow Overflow."
The exhibition features a selection of my most recent light paintings, which display a particularly warm, organic kind of luminosity, such as the image at the start of the video (which was displayed as my largest print to date, around 1 x 3 meters).
A closing shot shows the café's magnificent display of Fireking glassware.
The images were created using a Hasselblad H2 camera and PhaseOne P45+ digital back.
Finest quality digital art paper was kindly provided by Cosmos International and Pictran.

While I enjoyed the opening, the installation looks way better (in your video) with no-one in the room than when there are talking heads in the way! Sorry I couldn't help shoot, or bring my "fluid head" tripod.
