Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, talks about leadership as "understanding accountability" and "being held to an accountability standard." Mullen spoke to MBA and undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, as part of the Wharton Leadership Lecture series, founded by Management Professor Michael Useem.

Mullen is gifted speaker in a nice suit. Unfortunately for us, he's acting more like a press agent than the chairman of the joint chiefs. As a direct result of bush,Obama and Mullen's indecisive leadership North Korea has been able to develop a nuclear weapon unchecked. Are there any assertive patriotic leaders left that have the balls to shut-down Kim's nuclear aspirations once and for all?

His remarks on leadership do not only apply to the Naval Officer Corp but also down the food chain to every enlisted man or woman in the United States Navy. You carry that gift for the rest of your life into every facet of your civilian career whether you recognize it or not.

Admiral Mullen's diversity nonsense is ruining the USN. I find his black engineer of the year award to be highly offensive and demeaning. The idea that black's must have their own award category because they can not compete with the entire navy is disgraceful. What's next? separate drinking fountains? A vessal with an all black crew? ADM Roughead please assert a rudder order and get the USN back on track. Performance and achievement trump quotas every time.
