  • I have the Empire of the Sun soundtrack, but this song doesn't appear to be on it. Was there more than one soundtrack released for the movie?

  • @miketheman321

It doesn't appear entirely, just some parts: when Bale's at a rooftop watching the us bombarding the camp (with B-51 - Cadillac of the skies) and a another short part of the music when by the end, he's eating some fodd from the cans that have fallen from the skies....

  • @lhierckens111 A "P-51" not B-51 Mustang is the "Cadillac of the Skies"

  • @mgplaskett Right ;) bad mistake...

  • why do people relate music with movie, as far as i am concerned, i like the music, no matter what movie it was created. although i credit the moviemakers for creating that soundtrack. sometimes i like the soundtrack, not the movie

  • @alipiojacinto

Well, actually, I heard this music for the first time maybe 8 years ago and watched the film for the first time last year.... i loved the music and watching the film was just adding a new dimension to this track...

  • Long Live John Williams!?! <3

  • Great film

  • oops! wrong empire of the sun...

  • @redcardinalist Really? I didn't know that. Very interesting. It's a hard song to get officially, however.

When the film was orignally shown, because of its length, it was split in two with a short interlude between the two parts (s that people could go the toilet etc). The first part ended at the point Jim reached the Japanese airfield/camp and salutes the pilots. The movie then comes back in the second part 3 years later with Jim in the camp.

This is the music that was played whilst the interlude was in place.

  • 2:56 - 3:40 the best part!
