This is from the arcade/PS1/Saturn versions. The Sega CD version has that song you described.

The red car in this game later appeared at the beginning of the original Double Dragon arcade, which was directed by the same director of Road Avenger/Road Blaster, Yoshihisa Kishimoto. Also, the main helicopter at the beginning of Double Dragon II: The Revenge is the same one from Cobra Command/Thunder Storm, another laserdisc game directed by Yoshihisa Kishimoto.

The Sega CD one was damn near impossible to play...
The problem was unlike Dragons Lair or any of the other "Interactive Movies" the game never told you which way to go. You had to GUESS. Absolutely the most frustrating thing EVER when playing...
VERY nostalgic tho'.. thanks guy.

No, you're wrong. Hard Mode had no arrows or signals telling you what to press. That was because you needed to use your brain, or play easy mode first.

I don't know the name of the song (or any of the others for the that matter) But I think J-Walk is actually the band that did the original score for the arcade version (and PS and Saturn ports)...as they're listed in the end credits for these versions.

My guess is when Wolfteam re-did the audio for their Sega CD / Mega CD port, they didn't bother changing the end credits...so maybe it's THAT version's band that is actually unknown.

Either way, I much prefer the original theme (this one).

Flyer quote rules; thanks for including that.

None of this Dirk the Daring stumblebum-with-a-sword antihero business for our Japanese friends at Data East: their laser games put you at the helm of a badass combat chopper or a badass "Monster car," respectively.

I like their approach better. :D
