  • Can we stop the mommy wars?

  • My little LOVES her sling and believe me she would let me know if she was not comfortable. I asked my pediatrician about the Babybjorn and he had no objections at all. About facing in or out, it depends if your baby can hold its head or not, not on the kind of sling.

Keep up the good work FITMOM!

  • O O

     o

squatting with bb looks CRAZY! feel the burn yikes

  • it's like this you dont like it dont watch it .If your child is unhappy or uncomfortable they will let you know. and your child should be in the front facing you if they are not able to support neck. So seriously get over it what about baby yoga that doesnt look comfy for thier spinal but hey some love it some dont.

  • Thanks and mine too. My babies screamed facing in! But alas the mommy wars continue. I have been in touch with researchers and there is been no real long term study on baby wearing. The best way to wear your baby is the way that your baby lets you know he or she is happy! I wonder when all of us mommys will learn to support each others choices instead of being endlessly critical which is by far the most damaging.

  • I'm not sure if this is a mommy war, but I certainly think it's ridiculous. I wore many different types of carriers when my son was smaller, and he was perfectly happy in all of them. From bjorn to trekker to ergo to slings.... they all worked. He was much happier to be worn than anything else, especially when he was facing out.

Quit pointing fingers, and start using spell check before hitting "post comment"!

  • We have been involved in many debates and what it really boils down too is the baby happy (uncomfortable babies cry) and do mothers also feel comfortable.

There is acutally not one real official research study done on the matter. The only thing we have is our own experiences and individual mothers and babies comfort level. Please remember that while what may not work for you works for many....shouldnt we be promoting that in the land of moms!

  • Yes, it is good for babies to be worn, but worn in the correct position!!! Not heading away from the mother. And with a securely supported rounded back. And so on. For example in a sling. Not in these ...i dont know howtocallthem :-( And yes, I know a lot about babywearing (and carry my child daily), but sorry to say, you are doing it in a wrong way. Just read some more information abouit it and it will be OK.

  • yes, lets wear children, i also do, but in right position!!! in soft- structured carryiers or in a sling, which are ergonomic

  • thank you so much

This was the only thing that would sooth my colicky baby. He had colick for 4 months. Baby wearing specifically with activity calmed him down and made him feel safe and secure!

  • Are you speaking from an informed position as a baby wearing educator? It seems like you are passing harsh judgement. For 10 years moms and babies have been doing this at FITMOM and other similar programs. Babies who are unhappy cry and object....( yes not all babies like being worn but 98% do) Baby wearing is the oldest form of bonding for moms and babies. These babies are all very happy.. In fact most babies who are worn love it so much they have to weaned off it.
