El Grito visited the University of New Mexico to ask students and faculty an important question: why vote? We also asked if they had enough information to make a decision, and why it's important for the new American electorate to vote.

The new American electorate (or rising American electorate) is a group defined as young people, women, and people of color who are increasingly engaged in government and politics.

El Grito (www.elgritonm.org) is a website that offers news and analysis from New Mexico's grassroots. El Grito offers a space for the diversity of voices that exist in New Mexico, and to continually seek out and share the stories and views of New Mexicans who may not always have access to a medium that will let their cry be heard across the state.
