Monty is a fun-loving, very exuberant young Labrador Retriever/Pit bull Terrier mix! He weighs about 38 pounds now, but he will continue to grow for the next few months; he is still just 9 months old. Monty has a good, social temperament; however, it is clear that he had insufficient training and socialization before he came to Bideawee. His family had an infant and devoted very little time to Monty; he was left in the yard most of the time without much interaction or stimulation. We have been working with him on impulse control (jumping up to greet, pulling on the leash), softening his mouthy behavior, basic obedience, and housebreaking. He has already shown great improvement, as he is eager to learn and craves attention! While playing with other dogs, Monty becomes over-stimulated and inappropriate, since he was not socialized properly as a baby. Monty will need experienced dog people with children over age 12 that are committed to continuing working with our trainer to shape this big ole puppy into a happy, well-behaved adult!
