This firework competition has origine in 1925 when Mr. Baiho AKIMOTO, a monk of the Jinryu-ji temple at Tsuchiua, Ibaraki, Japan, started a private firework for young victims memorial service at Tsuchiura Navy Air-force camp and for revival of shopping mall suffered from recession.
Every time I come to see this firework competition in October which comsumes 20,000 fireworkes, I can not help thinking about youngstars who had trained at the Japanese air-force training school at the end of the World War II and went to battlefield from here. They were about 17 years old. And never came back because they did suicide atack. More than 10 thausands of fireworks represent the peace and hope for peace of many victims.
