Congressman Vern Buchanan (FL-13) calls for greater federal efforts to update the nation's criminal DNA database used to identify and apprehend violent offenders.
One possible approach, Buchanan said, is to make sure that the DNA of the most violent offenders is made available to law enforcement quicker than non-violent offenders. "The ones who represent the greatest threat should have their DNA coding made available ahead of the others," Buchanan said.
This video clip is from a press conference held by Congressman Buchanan and joined by Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube and Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight.
This guy asks for more money from the feds and from the other side of his mouth cries about taxes being a burden. Typical Republican hack.

Aldous Huxley was right when he said "People can be made to love their servitude" as the comment below shows. Well, surprise... they've been taking not just the DNA of violent criminals, but every baby born in the USA. Bush signed a bill that allows this, and Obama is racing to expand on it, along with the Rep in this video. Of course, they always make it sound reasonable at first. Welcome to 1984, sorry we're behind schedule.

There should be a NATIONAL DNA database. Every criminal in our prisons now, or in the future, should have to give DNA. Should they be released and commit a crime, that DNA can be the biggest tool in capturing the right person. I also think that any person, juvenile or older, that commits any type offense against society should have to have a DNA profile done, to help to convict, or help in their defense. Just my thoughts.
