Paul Davis-Magnolia Blues

From the 1978 Paul Davis Album "Southern Tracks and Fantasies". This record got airplay on radio stations mainly in Mississippi in the late 70's. It still gets occasional radio airplay but unfortunately the album is no longer in print the last I checked. The only way to get a copy is to find a used one at a second hand or thrift shop, which is where I found this one.

Big hit on WZZQ in the 70's. Never on CD. David Adcock of Z106 and later WTYX Jackson found a vinyl and started playing it on his sunday show. Stations rarely play request anymore and are run by computers so you have to wait for it on an oldie show. WSTZ 106 Jackson still plays it and Rock 104 hattisburg also. found this for $1 at a junk store. Been looking for this song for ages.

Wow.  Every once in a while, a song reappears that I had once loved but over the last 30 years had faded from my memory. This one was great on ZZQ. But they would also play Mac McAnally. It reminds me of "In The City" by Stevie Wonder. "..I was born, in Hard Times Miss-i-sip-i..."
