  • Only an ignorant fool, such as yourself, would give up a true passion. Your knee injuries are as a result of insufficient post run stretching, and from many more dense decisions you've made. I've been running PROPERLY for 25 years, and have yet to complain. Take it like a man.

  • Jesus...

    Droppin' like flies...

    88 degrees...

    High humidity...

    Hell...

    October 7!

Normal high is in the low 60s there!

This was the record high for that day.

    Jeez...

    You quite right

Elite athletes peak at around 27-28yrs old but with the 26.2 miles being 80% endurance and 20% pure speed older runners can excell at the distance.

The Masters 70 age group for the marathon is just under 3hrs so it does prove you might loose speed as you get older but not your endurance.

  • I wear a Camelback water hydration pack if the conditions warrant it.

You can run comfortably when you get used to it with 3Litres of whatever fluid you choose and you can take regular sips of water.

Remaining hydrated or partially hydrated is the answer when temperatures soar especially in a long distance event like the marathon.

You may finish slightly slower due to the heat but atleast you will finish the race.

  • this is a runner nightmare!

  • the best age for long disctance running is around 28 I recon, but a lot of youngsters do it too
