The second of four clips featuring John Denver presenting Johnny Carson's Tonight Show in 1977. This clip continues John's conversation with Carl Reiner who had recently directed him and George Burns in the movie 'Oh God'.

John sang 'Annie's Song' and 'Calypso' on this show. These clips have already been posted to my profile.

See also John's conversation with Dr. Carl Sagan on the same show.

  • If only Carl was right about John's acting career. He should have made more movies.

  • JD often spoke of his regrets at not making more movies.

  • wow do I wish I could do the little jumping trick John Denver did that looks fun

  • I'd like to second the opinion that I wish he'd made more movies. Especially more roles like the one he played in "Foxfire".

  • JD did not do many movies because he did not understand the process!!! He was offered the main role of "An Officer And A Gentleman" (given to Richard Gere) and thought this role was too slimmy!!!!! Originally - it WAS - but Gere was allowed to make the role a little more "military" and not just a slimeball!!!!!!!!

  • Jeez Carl Reiner looked old back then...he was the tonite show last week the age of 87 looked more sparky there
