Era tantissimo tempo che non ascoltavo quest'aria di questa registrazione: mi ricordavo che era un po', per così dire, "sovraeccitata"! Risentita a distanza di tempo posso dire che per me è decisamente fuori stile, e anche la trovata di alzarla di 1 tono non è stata proprio azzeccatissima, perchè la voce viene fuori veramente troppo aspra. Forse stavolta il pubblico (magari anche un po' prevenuto) aveva ragione. Imparagonabile, a mio avviso, con la registrazione della stessa aria in studio.

Her only live BARBIERE, Scala 1956 with Giulini. This lesson scene was slightly transposed upwards. I think she switched keys or landed on the wrong key during one of the "a capella" florid passages and you can hear detractors and fans yelling at each other, arguing over the "brava, bella voce!" comments after this aria.

I just love it when the audience goes nuts during these live performances! What it must have been like to hear Callas during those great years!

una delle sue più belle cadenze. Notare come sulla nota più bassa (5:00) la voce viene perfettamente appoggiata sul fiato per poter poi risalire facilità: astuta cantante! Alla fine dell'aria non tutti nel pubblico sono d'accordo sul "bella voce, bravissima", ed esplode una disputa che confonde il povero basso!

anche nei ruoli comici la Callas è insuperabile! la cadenza, come già scritto, è una delle sue più riuscite...purtroppo le fu aspramente criticata dal pubblico (ovviamente non solo ciò ma anche il fatto che decise di cantare Rosina con il registro di mezzo, pur intromettendo delle fioriture)
