Kozarac (Serb: Козарац) is a small town at the foot of the Kozara mountains in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located near the city of Prijedor, in the overwhelmingly orthodox Serb Republika Srpska (Република Српска) entity. However, most of its inhabitants are muslim Bosniaks who have returned to rebuild their town after being expelled during the Bosnian civil war. During the war, almost half the town's population of approx. 8,000 were killed and every one of the mosques was destroyed.
